Fixed Wing Carrier Qualified Ribbon: Awarded to individuals who have successfully completed the course of instruction for Basic Carrier Operations and completed the required number of catapult launches and traps.

Outstanding Unit Award: Awarded to a squadron, wing, or command in recognition of the superior leadership, training, and airmanship resulting in the successful accomplishment of a unit’s assigned special missions and combat readiness, or for a specific successful training mission/deployment/operational readiness test.USVAF Achievement Medal: Awarded to an individual, crew, or group in recognition of the successful accomplishment of a mission, training event, or other tasking that significantly improved the USVAF.USVAF Service Ribbon: Awarded to individuals who through their actions have demonstrated their commitment to the high standards and requirements of the USVAF. Typical tasks that would qualify to receive this award would be successfully completing any single or combination of the following: hosting a minimum of ten (10) training and/or operational scheduled/pop-up flight sessions; providing training and/or training material approved by the USVAF Command Group, providing technical server/computer support to the USVAF Command Group and members, successfully recruiting a minimum of three (3) new members within a 12 month time frame (member must complete their orientation flights, be permanently assigned to a wing or the reserve/air guard, and complete one additional flight with another USVAF member to qualify as being recruited); or any other tasking approved by their wing or the Command Group.

Recognition Ribbon: Awarded to individuals for the successful completion of a significant event, special mission, or to recognize a member for an achievement not otherwise covered by another award or decoration.Humane Action Medal: Awarded to individuals and aircrew who at great personal risk demonstrated superior airmanship skills in support of military humane relief operations in a hostile or dangerous environment.Air Traffic Controller Training Ribbon: Awarded to individuals who have successfully completed the course of instruction for basic ATC.

National Defense Medal: Awarded to members who  have flown at least three flights with their assigned wing using that wing’s designated aircraft.NATO Defense Medal: Awarded to individuals and aircrew who have flown or supported a minimum of five (5) training or operational flights involving specific NATO tasking within the European theater. This would not include deployment/cargo flights to USAFE bases in support of DOD directed, non-NATO tasking. Flights will have to be flown within the same Theatre of Operations, designated or approved by the USVAF/HQ. Missions will have to be at least 24h apart, in order to count for the recognition.Korea Defense Medal: Awarded to individuals and aircrew who have successfully flown or controlled a minimum of five (5) overseas deployments/exercises to Japan/Okinawa/Korea. Flights will have to be flown within the same Theatre of Operations, designated or approved by the USVAF/HQ. Missions will have to be at least 24h apart, in order to count for the recognition.

NATO Campaign Medal: Awarded to individuals and aircrews who have flown or supported a minimum of (5) training or operational flights involving current or historical events in the (26) North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries. This would include deployment/cargo flights to USAF bases in support of< DOD directed, non-NATO tasking. Flights will have to be flown within the same Theatre of Operations, designated or approved by the USVAF/HQ. Missions will have to be at least 24h apart, in order to count for the recognition.Aerial Refueling Qualification Ribbon: Awarded to individuals who have successfully completed the course of instruction for Aerial Refueling Operations, either as a tanker or as a receiver. Global War on Terrorism: Awarded to members who  have flown at least three flights with their assigned wing using that wing’s designated aircraft.

Good Conduct Ribbon: Awarded to individuals who have been members of the USVAF for a minimum of six months without being formally reprehended either by the HQ and or by any MAJCOM Command, met the minimum training/participation requirements for members, and exemplify the highest standards expected of the members of this organization.Basic Flight School Ribbon/Phase I: Awarded to individuals who have successfully completed the course of instruction for Basic Phase I Flight School .Intermediate Flight School Ribbon/Phase II: Awarded to individuals who have successfully completed the course of instruction for Intermediate Phase II Flight School.

This includes weather recon flights in potential hurricane/typhoon locales. Flights will have to be flown within the same Theatre of Operations, designated or approved by the USVAF/HQ.
